Color as a decision

Scrawl's light theme is #f5efe6 — warm paper. The dark theme is pure black. No grays, no gradients. The change feels like turning a page, not toggling a dashboard. Your device preference is respected on first visit; your choice is saved.

Why paper matters

Screens learned to shout. Paper learned to listen. A one-column, sepia page lowers cognitive load so the sentence can do its job. No sidebar, no notifications, no autoplay.

Write in the theme that lets you forget the tool. That's when the best sentences arrive — when the interface disappears.
